Those who had planned/selected their place, day and mother for birth can claim to select the way they want to die.
Others will have to leave it to mother "DESTINY" to decide.
You chose a bullet for yourself? OK, what if you are evacuated in time to hospital, operated successfully and in the process are disabled physically, waiting indefinitely for the right moment to come?
It is not fiction, take some time to a hospital and look for a bullet injured person, you will find it a matter of routine in most of the cases.
Live a good life and leave rest of the things, beyond your control, to God.
We are born dying and perhaps if one day I am hit by a bullet so be it. But then again perhaps I will live.
But to live is a slow death.

I'd take the terminal illness, because at least I would have time to to say all my goodbyes, and really appreciate my time left. It gives time for those around you to adjust to what is happening, so the blow doesn't hit them as hard when it comes. With a bullet to the head, BANG, and all life is expelled from you within an instant. You end up just a bloody mess on the floor, without dignity and leaving friends and loved ones traumatised.
