I am a 16 year old boy, who has severely crossed eyes and behind some thick farsighted lenses the crossing of the eyes are even more noticied. I live in Sao Paulo and there are not a single day that I am not teased at school or elsewhere. I am very shy of my eyes AND my funny glasses; (you wouldn't believe if you see it), and I even hate them or hate to talk about them and maybe because of that, I have no friends, even at school. What should I do to change this situation? I've had four surgeries with insatisfatory results. Any answer or suggestions would be appreciated.

Personally, I have nothing against cross-eyed people or the like. First of all, it is a condition the person didn't plan having and maybe even wanted to have. People may be cruel or rude towards you for being cross-eyed, but keep telling yourself that you are still special in your own ways. If you are having problems gaining friends, try to find something where you can excel at..it may be a hobby or it may be in a school subject. If they don't want you for their friend, then you can and should certainly find some people who'll want to make friends with you. Don't make your handicap a reason for you to remain cramped up in your shell. Go out and make friends with those people who are not biased...i am quite positive that there are such people still around. Goodluck!!!
