If it were important to you to have children, and you made that clear when the relationship was starting to get a little more serious, and the other person lied or knew they couldn't have kids and never told you to get you into the relationship (some people think after a while you won't mind because you'll already love them)......then a split would be understandable.

If they lied about it deliberatly didnt tell you then i would say that yes that gives grounds for breaking up. If they didnt know ahead of time and found out together, then no they should not break up. it should be considered as a loss to both of them together and is somthing they should over come together. They can still adopt or maybe find a serogate mother in the family so it still carries on the family genes. Hope this helps to define the difference between the two sides. One is deliberate sabatoge the other is chance.
