Answer:

I have swallowed gum for years and I asked a doctor about this and he said, its a old wife's tale that it hurts anything. It passes through your body quite easily.

Now for anyone that says, "oh ick" you swallow gum, "gross."

What makes gum any different from chewing food and swallowing? Nothing. Whats really gross is people spitting it out on sidewalks and you step in it or sticking it underneath public tables. Now that's gross!

It's not bad to swallow gum. You just have to watch out for choking, just like you would in swallowing anything. Gum digests just the same as any food you swallow and in the same amount of time
