the controversy started with the beginning of time.... unfortunately it's frowned upon and makes women feel like 2nd class citizens.... this is the way of the world and no matter how much women accomplish and how powerful they become they will always have the stigmatism when it comes to sex! when women are forward or are confident about their sexuality they're deemed sluts, whores or worse...

It is not as much now. but it was before. I think it was because men would not want to marry a woman who had alredy been with another man. Some girls still now want to get virgin until the day they get marry, because they want it to be special or just be with one man.
