Why doesnt the NHS pay for teeth and sight
Why can I not get free glasses from my optician? When I got my kidney infection, I got antibiotics 拢6.00, they made me better so I could work, My heart is treated free except prescription charge.
Yet I cant get glasses or contact lenses on prescription. I could not work with out them (pay taxes, would need to recived benefits etc.) but I have had to save for months to afford a decent pair? It that not biased against people with sight problems..
I am grateful for my corrected vision by the way.
Answer:It's simple. If the Government stopped paying out thousands of pounds in salaries for hospital manager and politically correct red tape, and generally throwing money willy nilly down the bottomless pit called the NHS.they would have enough to give free dental and optical treatment. No doubt then they would put prescription charges up to 拢20 per item.....
it was free..until Maggie and TB came into power
It's rubbish isn't it. So there we are, expected to pay money into the NHS through our taxes and we only get the benefits of using one third of it. And before we know it we have to end up with no teeth and bad sight. (sigh)...
I agree, it is a huge problem trying to get s dentist appointment anywhere in the UK, most dentists seem to be going private, that makes it even harder to get treatment on the NHS,
Yeah local NHS Dentists are a big issue and one of the points on many a party manifesto to promisie to sort out.
