Why do you go wrinkly in the bath

Answer:

you get wrinkly because the water in your body is trying to create a homeostasis level. Meaning a balance of water on the inside of your body is trying to balance with the water on the outside (the bath water, shower...etc) to make it even. same amount of water on both sides. So your body starts to absorb the water in the tub. The first stage is the wrinkle you are seeing. It looks like its wrinkling from loss of water but have you even seen beans or peas when you soak them overnight? They are first very wrinkly then they get fat with as much water they can absorb. Its the same principle with skin.

coz of the moisture in water perhaps... it dampesns the skin and it softens...
we have a coating on our skin that stops the water getting through, our fonger tips and toes don't have the same amount of it as the rest of our body thats all

I watched a tv prog where they said if you coated your fingers and toes with lard, this wouldnt happen, dont fancy that much though

simply because water gets absorbed into your skin....thus making the skin softer...henceforth causing your skin itself to retract, usually because you bathe in hot water(hopefully). So basically water+your skin+surface(which if forgot to mention)= wrinkly skin in the tub.....
because with prolonged immersion the skin absorbs water. To accommodate the increased bulk this produces, it increases its surface area. Skin is attached to underlying structures so cannot just hang loose - instead the wrinkles form. And now you know!
