Why do you get sick when the weather changes or the temperature goes up

health advisory Hospital Health advisory 2007-11-16 5:20:01

I have noticed that every time the temperature changes dramatically , I start to feel a little bit of a fever and sore throat.

any explanation as the reason why?

Answer:

All those nasty little airborne bugs that can make you sick get very busy reproducing when the weather gets warm. Humid conditions are better still for them. The cold kills them or dampens their ardour!

I think it's because our bodies have a certain temperature and if it succeeds that temperature, you get sick.
because the changes happen` faster that your body is able to react.
Because that tw*t with the funny hair come on the TV and tells us the weather report!! makes me sick! just look out the window you pr*t!
Errr well, I don't get sick just because of the weather. You must be a sensitive little flower - or a hypercondriac
GERMS i would say ... but i would take some AIRBORNE at the 1st symptom of a cold, vitamins, etc. to prevent it .

the sore throat thing .. are you drinking enough water/fluids?

my son and i use to catch frequent colds but after watching a

show on tv about germs and since.. i dont allow shoes in the house (we take them off inside the door, and i use lysol, sanitize wipes (on phone, cell, door handles) and we keep hand sanitizer in the car .. and we have been w/out frequent colds.. maybe get one a year maybe!)

Our bodies have a natural system that fights infection, and another system which maintains normal body temperature. Outside factors such as temperature can make the body work harder to maintain this, and it can make the individual more likely to get infections. It's even more likely if the person already has other infections or has other health problems.

What you're saying sounds like temperature might affect you more than most people, so I hope you talk to a doctor about it.

bacteria needs heat and moisture to multiply. while they are always present changes in temp affect their growth. in colder weather central heating causes them to multiply at a greater rate and the dryness of our homes from the heating can leave you with a sore throat. fruit , water and a good multivitamin have helped me to cut down on these illnesses.
That happens to me sometimes, I think it's our bodies adjusting
