Why do the ends of peoples finger nails turn white
you know at the end of ur finger nail, that one spot where ur nail turns from a light, peachy-pink to white, why does that happen, also that little part @ the bottom neat the cuticle, theres that little white half circle, do u have an answer for either of those!!!!!
Answer:Your nails turn white because, well, that's what color the natural keratin is. Have you ever taken a bath and had your nail tips turn clear? That's because they're saturated with moisture. The part of your nail that is still attached to live skin is still being moisturized by your body, so it's clear. As for the half-moon shape on your nail, (called the lunula) that's part of the nail-making factory that cranks out the keratin which becomes your nail plate. Some people have large lunulas, while other people (including me) can't see theirs at all.
They turn white white because that means u dont have enough calcium in ur body. to get rid of them start drinking up suum milk.
Re: your OTHER queston:I am out of email. Having a laptop means I can not help you. I'm very new at all of this...very sorry.
The white crescent under your nail is called a Lunula, and has to do with the growth of your nails before you are born. I'm not sure about the tips, but I'd guess they turn white due to friction, and cleaning, much like a rock after being in a stream in the daylight, may become smooth and turn a lighter color.
