For the same reason it's on your head. To keep someone in a job.
Yes, they do. It's to help prevent dust from entering.
They're there for protection, to keep things out that may cause us harm
In your nose it helps trap dirt and debris so it doesn't go father into your nose and sinuses. Hair in your ears also can trap some dirt and debris.
Not sure about your ears but you have hairs in your nose to catch the mucus when you have a cold otherwise the bogies would just drop straight out!

Good question. fortunately i know the answwer to that. hair grows in your nose because it blocks out dusts and other substances. when there is a lot blocked, you sneeze. Same with ears except it turns into wax... gross stuff, huh?
More to the point, why did we stop growing hair everywhere else? This is merely a developmental throwback. Nasal hair however still has a small function in helping to reduce the risk of inhaling foreign bodies through the nose, acting as a net.
