I really get angry when people eat or chew around me. There are certain sounds that just set me off. I have to block it out by plugging my ears or humming. If I am eating along with them it doesnt bother me because i dont notice to much, but i cant eat everytime someone else is. I have tried asking them not to eat around me but they say im a spaz and get angry at me.

Also repetative sounds make me absolutly crazy! The sounds on childrens television that repeat the word a hundred times! GRRR...

What is wrong with me? anyone know what a diagnosis for this would be called? (besides crazy)

Answer:

The anger is triggered by the repetitive sounds that you describe but not caused by them...There is something else that causes the anger and certain things just trigger it. To solve this you will have to find the real cause(s) of your anger; this can be a very difficult task...You have to look deeper inside you either alone or with the help of a guide....

It might be ocd. However, I happen to agree with you on the chewing thing. Yuck!! People chew with their mouths open or crunch things and it drives me to madness as well.

I am right there with you girl. I can't tolerate it! And once I hear a noise, I'll always notice it, I can't ignore it! My boyfriend was eating something with peanut butter one day and I could have jumped out of my skin I was so aggrevated! My mother used to crunch loud, and I could almost go into a rage! I hate hearing the food being worked around in their mouth. Some food is worse that others. Sometimes I have to get up and walk away.I try not to eat right next to anyone, and I put the tv up louder. You must hate hearing birds outside and small dogs barking too. Oh, and how about gum chewing, blowing bubbles and snapping it? Ahhhhhhhh! I could absolutly flip out over that! I don't think we'r so crazy, we just have quirks.
