to rule out a blockage,,,,,,IM HAVING HARD TIME BREATHING,pain behind my right breast and shoulder and arm..could this be heartburn?
Answer:Of course you have to listen to your Dr. If you are not satisfied with him or his advice, I would definitely get a second opinion. However, my husband had pains in his chest and right shoulder--very painful. Turned out to be gas and was alleviated with medication. He didn't have a hard time breathing though. Could be pleurisy? I doubt very much that what you describe is heartburn. I don't believe heartburn has anything to do with your shoulder or arm.
My husband who works in the medical field (actually performs nuclear stress tests) had me drive him to the ER twice with chest pain thinking it was a heart attack. Both episodes were at night after lying in bed. Turns out his WAS heartburn/acid reflux. You could also have pulled rib muscles if you have done something lately that was strenuous. That can be very painful. It depends on your symptoms and your doctor is the best person to diagnose you dependent on those symptoms. If you are having pain and difficulty breathing on exertion (after physical activity) you would have to rule out a blockage. A stress test is a simple non-invasive test. Go ahead and have it done.
Probably not heartburn, you should go for the stress test to rule out any serious cardiac problem.
