What will i do if my child is adhd
his 5yrs old and very distructive
Answer:he will just be placed on medicine.. if that is what your choice should be and just watch him carefully and pay extra attention to him .. besides that he should be fine:]
OF COURSE HE IS A BOY!! << and it could be just boy syndrome instead of ADHD .. either way he should grow out of either one!
If he destroys your stuff - take away things of his - garbage them even or better yet give them to charity . He will learn to stop .
You will cope and you will love him. You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. You can do this.
Of course you will contact the school and see if they can help you in getting a diagnostic test performed on him to see if he really has that or if he just hates something in his life.
At 5, children act out what we as adults can articulate.
If you see him getting frusturated before his outbursts, try to help him express his emotions and respond accordingly.
If he is mad about another child not sharing for example, his impulse at 5 might be to just go and snatch the toy or throw something at the child...
Help him to express that he wanted that toy to play with to. When he says that you can encourage the other child to share or you can divert his attention to another toy that might be more fun with your intereaction.
Be sure that he is not seeing destructive behavior. Is your neighbor's husband always beating his wife? Your child will see it and might try to emulate him....
