What to do about multi-vitamin
I'm taking a simple Women's One-A-Day multivitam every morning with breakfast. If I don't take it with food it comes back up or I get very nauseous Recently, even if do take it with food, I get heart burn and or nauseous.
Are there any "gentle" multi-vitamins out there? I've tried different brands, but each is on par with the one I'm taking now.
Answer:My suggestion would be to go to GNC and look into their multivitamin/mineral supplements. GNC has rigorous testing for their products and they are in the business of health. I mean no disrespect to the others that have posted to this question but buying those generic multivitamins is practically worthless. CVS, Wal-mart, and other stores are not in the business of health. They only carry the bare minimum of quality merchandise especially concerning health products. The only problem I have with GNC is that their multivitamin/mineral supplements are not isotonic. Isotonic is a term that simply means that it is uptaken into your bloodstream immediately without having to go through your digestive tract. This is important as you can lose absorption of important nutrients. With that being said you are still much better off with GNC. Two quick points before I go. Every single human being needs to be on a multivitamin/mineral supplement because no one on this planet eats the perfect diet so we are always missing valuable nutrients. Lastly, products like centrum, one-a-day, etc. usually have an absorption rate of between 10-20%. I would rather spend my money on a product that gives me a little more in return than that! Good luck on your search. Hope this helps.
Flintstones chewables.
I take the CVS store brand multi-vitamins because I used to have the same problem. They don't make me nauseous and they are tasteless.
If you are having so much trouble taking a simple Vitamin maybe you should check with a GYN and see if there are other problems or reasons that the other the counter vitamins are not working.
