What should I expect in a medical study for new medication

What was your experience & how does it work? I have signed up for a new diabetic medication study; wondering if I should go through with it & what to expect.

Answer:

A clinical trial? Is this an approved study? You should check it out to be sure and to see if this clinical investigator (the doctor doing the study) has been in trouble with the FDA before.

Here is the link to check on warning letters:

http://www.fda.gov/foi/warning.htm...

And to see if there are 483s (FDA investigations) against the doctor/clinic: http://www.circare.org/foia/483.htm...

Remember....if you have problems with this study and you don't think the doctor is handling it, contact: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/

Could get some side effects. That's pretty much what they're testing for.
I'm doing a clinical reaserch study right now, for a new drug. I really like the whole experience. I get the meds for free ( that I would need, anyway), I get paid a check every month, and they do a full head to toe physical before you start and once you finish the meds!

It's a great opportunity! Good Luck
