Sure deodorant is effective. You don't want to use anything that will make you not sweat altogether. Not good for you.

What you need is an antiperspirant, which actually clogs and stops your sweat glands from producing-

Not very good for you though- sweating is the body's natural way of cleansing toxins from your body. Do you think you perspire too profusely? Maybe you should see a doctor, and stick with simple deodorant.

I had a female friend who used to sweat a LOT, and she swore by Certain-Dri.

I must sweat more than I once thought because when I use anything other than Degree, I experience major deodorant failure... yikes...

Above all it MUST be an anti-perspirant. Although there has been evidence that links the aluminum zirconium to Alzheimer's (not sure if they've disproved that yet)... just plain deodorants will not work on anyone who has normal sweat glands.
