My girlfriend is suffering from depression What can I do for her
I've had some treatment for anxiety and I can tell you it's the best thing I ever did. I wish I would've done it a lot earlier. So really encourage her to get some help.
Best of luck.
Unfortunately, there isn't much that you can to help her directly, and I suspect that that's what you want to do. It's a perfectly normal reaction to such a situation, for so very many reasons, including the fact that men have a need to protect their loved ones and to fix all the problems.
This is a problem that you can't fix. But you can support her while she works to fix it. Help her to talk with her family doctor about this, and to ask for a referral for more help. You might even write a letter to her doctor outlining your concerns, as a way of helping her with this. But she does need professional help.
For yourself, you need to understand that even when you can't fix the big problem, you can fix the small ones that surround it. You can listen, you can make suggestions that are supportive. You can keep telling her positive things about herself. You can praise her when she does see her doctor about it, You can, well, you're getting the idea, I hope. Sometimes it's the small fixes that really help. Sometimes that small fix is a simple as a hug. But they don't substitute for that professional help.
Take care of yourself as well, so that you can help her.
You are a real blessing to her. It sounds like you're doing about all you can in your own power, in loving her so much.
