Try to have more control over the food that you do eat, prepare it yourself and don't let anyone else touch it, then you'll know that it's safe. Build yourself up gradually to a normal dietary intake by eating little and often, maybe prepare some nice fruit, cut it up and put in containers then have a little bit every few hours.

You know that you need professional help with this to get to the heart of what this food aversion is all about, so see a reputable therapist and an expert dietitian. If you can, try to keep a food diary about your experiences with food, that would really help to identify the problem and will go a long way to helping you get over this. Good luck Rachael, I wish you the best. You will be able to get through it, it's only food at the end of the day and you're stronger than you think x

Have you considered about talking to family and friends first. Perhaps if you snack instead of whole meals you may put the weight on, perhaps talking to a nutriationist may make you feel safer about the types of food you eat or learning to prepare it yourself may take away the fear of your food being contaminated
