Is xanax right for mePlease help
obviously the drugs you have used have not helped because
your mind won't allow it. So why another?
instead of destroying your liver with toxins which build up and
cause adverse effects.Try yoga and some natural herbs..
walking/running or other exercise outside in fresh air to releive
stress and tire you enough to relax and sleep.
Learn to control you mind rythem instead of allowing it to control you. Good Luck and hangin
I am not an expert but from my own experience if Ambien didn't work, Xanax sure won't. Xanax is extremely addictive anyhow and it is my understanding that the withdrawl is h-ll. Please disucss what is going on with your doctor and perhaps some sort of relaxation therapy might help. It doesn't sound like meds are the answer. I had tried every med (including Xanax) and finally tried Ambien and that was the ONLY one that worked in my case so if that one didn't work I'm guessing that your doctor may want to try another route. Have they tried doing a sleep study on you? Good luck
Maybe you just need some of the green stuff. Ya, know? Your doctor will probably try SSRI's if you tell 'em about your anxiety. Your school should have a counselling centre and it should be free since your a student. Start seeing a psychologist. If the psychologist suggests, see a doctor for meds. Use meds as a last resort.
I used to have that problem, too. I just couldn't fall asleep and when I did I would wake up a few hours later and stay up for hours. Since I've been taking the Xanax XR I can barely stay awake past 9:00 pm. I'm not suggesting that Xanax would be right for everyone, but for me I have never slept better.
There's a lot of great advice on here already, I just want to add that you should see a psychiatrist for this problem, it is beyond what a family doc can do for you . Counseling will probably help, too. You will want to take advantage of these services while you are in college and have good insurance. You may have to try a few things before you hit on something that helps. Most people do find a treatment that provides significant relief.
There is also this issue with liver metabolism, some people get no effect from common meds, others get totally overdosed, so maybe that is part of the troulbe (research cyp 450 liver enzymes for more on this, if you really want to read a lot of technobabble). So make sure you bring a list of things you've tried to the psychiatrist. Xanax works the same as Ambien, they are related drugs (ambien isn't a benzo, but it apparently acts about the same anyhow).
Good luck!
