i have general anxiety disorder. before i got help i was always anxious, my mind always racing, i couldnt sit still, i constantly felt sick to my stomach (from thenerves), i didnt sleep for anything (it was like my brain wouldnt shut up!), i was tires and irrritable all the time. it got to be too much, so i went to my doctor. now i take lexapro daily and xanax when im having a panic attack. i take trazadone at noght to help me sleep. this combination has totally turned things around for me. i still deal with some of these problems every once in awhile, its not like the disorder goes away becaus e you take meds.
go see your doctor and tell him whats going on. ask abaout daily meds for the anxiety, along with something to help you sleep. mention lexapro and trazadone.
best of luck, anxiety can be hard, but it doesnt have to control your life
lower your stress level if all possible, that will help with your sleeping. stop worry about stuff
No. I've been addicted to Xanax before and it's hell. You can tell yourself that it won't happen to you, but it always does when you become dependent on a chemical to feel better. I layed in my room for 8 days and didn't even as much as turn on the TV due to hypersensitivity. Do not go down that road. At first maybe it will help you with your social anxiety, but in the long run you will be more socially intraverted, I promise.
I'm sorry for the way you feel. There are many different drugs that could help you but many drugs are addictive not just xanax. If you have a good DR. and you trust him then go by what he tells you. Also there is a great web site that you might want to check out-www.Daily Strength.com.Many people with same problem as you, what helps them and different meds.for anxiety/stress.Hope it helps.
It sounds like you need to RELAX your mind........
