I use caffeine pills every other morning because they make me feel more alert and more focused-- also more confident-- they perk me up more than coffee alone. Is this a bad addiction? Is it bad to use caffeine as a source of not only alertness & energy but confidence?
Please no mean answers, be serious
Answer:yes in time it will be bad
when u finally decide to stop them u wont be able to and you will not want to move and may have to seek help
It isn't any different than drinking coffee, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it....no pun intended....if you can't function with out them that is when I would start to worry.....
Yes it sounds like you rely on it alot. Try exercise in the early morning to get your blood pumping, and it builds confidence too.
Anything can be addicting, I think. And there are worse things you could be hooked on! The fact that you realize it might be a problem is a good thing. Try to gradually wean yourself off of them if you can. Coffee might help the process.

Caffeine is a stimulant. It has been known to cause death in taken in very large amounts. It causes the heart to speed up and gives you that adrenaline rush that makes you feel more alert and focused. You should ask your doctor whether it is okay for you to take them. I would think a couple cups of coffee would be better. But if you want to compare the caffeine amounts, I have searched on "caffeine amounts" on the net and found charts that list how many milligrams of caffeine are in different things. Then search for your caffeine pill and see how much is in it (or maybe it says on the box) and compare them. You don't want to make your heart beat a lot faster in a long term way or you can cause heart damage. So be careful.
Caffeine is definitely addictive and yes, the use of caffeine pills can turn into an addiction IF you are depending on them to make you focused, confident, and alert. I would recommend trying other methods, including a good breakfast with energy booster foods (apples, oatmeal, orange jucie, etc). Look inside your own mind and remember how you were before you started taking the caffeine supplements and I bet you just may find that you don't really need them for confidence boosters. Focus that energy instead on maybe sharing some smiles with others, that smile you give them may be the only one they get that day and remember no matter how little self-confidence you feel you personally may have, there is someone out there who is looking up to you.
