Is there any way you can control or at least influence the kind of dreams you have

What really irritates me is when I have a good dream that leads me on, but I wake up before the best part happens! Is there any way I can increase the duration of my dreams if they're good ones, or anyway I can increase having good dreams in general?

I also have recurring "fake-out" dreams where I finally return to Florida on vacation ("Is this actually for real? Not a dream this time?") only to wake up with disappointment. I want those dreams to go away.

Answer:

Try www.lucidity.com. That is the Lucidity Institute. The founder has written a book and teaches the techniques for lucid dreaming which is being aware while you are dreaming that you are dreaming and through that awareness being able to manipulate your dreams and enjoy them. I have read the book which is fascinating and interesting! The technique is meant to circumvent the problem you mention of awakening just when your dream is becoming most exciting and can also teach you how to avoid those dreams which annoy you.

if I listen to TV or a CD or DVD sometimes what they're saying goes into my dreams so you can try that

it's hard to control length of dreams except by going to sleep earlier so you sleep longer so than may work

you can program your dreams by writing down what you want to learn before you go to sleep. then when you wake up, write down the dream immediately, even if it doesn't make sense. dreams communicate with us through symbols.
