Is the brain damage caused by drugs reversible? My nephew did drugs for a while and now he is depressed, anxious, unmotivated. Is there a way to revert this? or is this damage forever?

Answer:

Some of it may be. Our brains are pretty amazing at regenerating damage. Make sure you eat a good diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. The antioxidants in them may help your body repair some of the damage.

the brain does regenerate itself, regarding the specific issues, please consult a mental health expert to get help for you nephew if needed
Brain damage is permanent, because the neurons ( brain cells ) are very SPECIALIZED ( meaning multi - fonctionel / complexe ) cells.......and the more specialized a cell is the less capable it is to repair itself....however emotionel brain damage such as what your describing can usually be controlled by the help of medication
it takes about 4-6 mths for your brain to work right after u stop using drugs. that's what they told me in rehab
