I have watched a lot of people praise how methedone got them off heroine, but they have been off heroin for years, but are still taking methadone years later.
Answer:it has been a treatment for heroin addiction for years now
A side effect
Almost 5,000 die every year from the wrong prescribed strength
I know people who have been basically assigned by the court to methadone treatment, so I'd say that makes it pretty legitimate.
It is considered a legitimate treatment for heroine addiction.
Methadone is supposed to get people off heronine but my view is that people then become addicted to the methadone. It's much more accepted by sociaity to take mathadone than to take heroine because methadone is supplied by the government to addicts - this reduces the crime rates because addicts no longer need to steal money to fuel their addiction. Obviously this supply of methadone used tax payers money and sometimes isn't successful because addicts are taking both heroine and methadone. Methadone is addictive so basically you are replacing a much more dangerous addiction with one that is in theory controled and safer.

Hope this helps x
I am taking methadone.I was addicted to ultram. It is a pain killer. Any body that has a problem with opiates can get on methadone. Its not just for herion. I have been on methadone now for six years. I am 49 and just dont see myself coming off of it. I will more than likely be on it till I die.Not that I want to be but I have been taking pills damn near 30 years. I dont think I would make it without methadone.
