That's what I was told. If so why? Is it genetics? Or more the environment of there home and religious structures?

Answer:

No... It is not true.

I don't think you can adequately chart or measure something like that. not realistically anyway.

Who told you that? Some Jr Hitler wanna be members only club?

Every Jew I have ever known was above average intelligent and rather well centered...

I think you have that backward... Most of the Mental Health providers I have known were Jewish come to think of it... But again, you can't accurately measure something like that... mostly because in many cultures, mental health issues are dealt with by family and not made public I thin kthat is why out of all my clients... Not one of them were Asian! ( I saw applicants at a rate of one every 10 minutes all day long for over 2 years.) NOT ONE was Asian... Or Jewish to my knowledge.

Not to mention religion and ethnicity doesn;t often come up in the regualar line of questioning...

No. You were told that by someone who doesn't like Jewish people. They are ignorant. Don't buy that crap.
No, it is not true.

I heard the same thing about people in the U.S.

Is that true?

Well, there are some articles out there that theorize that is the case. Here's one for example: http://www.overthrow.com/lsn/news.asp?ar...
I I agree with MDGCATS Somewhat she thinks Jews have problems-I dont have a clue
No. A high ratio of mental illness is no more prevalent in Jewish people than it is in any other group. Any time you hear a negative remark about a group of people, you are listening to bias.
I was told that intelligent people have a higher incidence of mental illness. (This was told to me personally by an MIT professor.)
