Is it true that immunizations can make a person become Autistic

I was recommended not to give my son a chicken pox injection due to the drug that was given to him, when he died during a horrific labour, to bring him back & twice later in the intensive care unit.

Doctors agreed it would give him brain damage, so he got all his shots, but that one.

He hasn't had any of them -as yet- (+ mumps & measles.)

I thank God for my 18 yr old miracle.

People were concerned that the MMWR shot (because it contains mercury) was responible for the increase in the prevalence of autism. MANY, MANY studies have been conducted that have disproven this. In fact, the Institute of Medicine announced several years ago that based on all the studies, the MMWR was not responsible for causing autism.

So, the answer is no.

YES! It is true.

These other people on here are idiots.

Trust me.... it is true.

It is very unlikely, but not completely disproven. Maybe a small percentage of cases of autism were triggered by shots, but I doubt it.

Genetics is one significant factor.

- If my autistic neice had an identical twin (same genes), there would be an 80% chance that the twin would be austitic, too.

- If she had a fraternal twin (different genes) the odds would be about 6%.

Age of the father is another.

- If a newborn's father is in his 40s, he is 5 times more likely to develop autism than if the father was in his 20s.
