Is it normal to feel depressed
My girlfriend recently broke up with me, and because we were friends first we decided to remain friends. Whenever i talk to her i feel great but as soon as I am done talking or hanging out with her i feel really crappy. She has been through a lot (multiple brain surgeries) and I was there to help her through her depression. She recently told me that she "Felt weird" when we hung out. Is it stupid to try to remain friends with her if It only makes me feel crappy. There is nothing i want more than to remain friends with her but I still have feelings for her and I know that if i dont talk to her i will feel even worse than i do now. please help.
Answer:It is fairly natural to feel upset and a little depressed after a breakup but it should not be long lasting. If this girl matters so much to you, it's important that you remember that you want what makes her satisfied and at this point it seems that she is only interested in being friends with you.
If spending too much time with or around her makes you uneasy and upset, try to limit your time together and keep your conversations easy going and simple. Don't end your friendship altogether because this may leave you feeling regretful.
At this point, it is important to move on. You seem very determined to maintain your friendship, so keep it on a reasonable level. Occupy yourself doing things you love and be around people that make you happy such as other friends and your family. Don't try to rush into another relationship just because you want to be in love again. Be patient.
