Is it normal for someone in who is close to death to speak in tongues

My aunt is in Hospice care, and in my recent visits with her, when she is awake we carry on a conversation, but suddenly she starts talking I guess in another language To me it sounds like a language from the Middle East because she mentions Ala. But just as quickly she begins to talk normally. Is this normal?

Answer:

Apparently your aunt is not the only person who does these strange things in these environment. My GP who is a christian tells me it is quite well known in the medical field of people really ill, and the old who sit or lay in nursing homes often have these experiences.

He tells me how old laddies who never talk or respond to conversation to nurses or family will often look up and talk with somebody who can not be seen. (speaking to angels?)

These are called miracles of hospice care. All sorts of strange and wonderful things happen when the families are not around to witness these divine encounters

Middle eatern tongues would make sense as the Bible (God's Living word) is middle eastern in origin. Tongues is our spirit communicating with the holy spirit directly when our own mind and mouth do not have the words to say. Speaking in tongues is edifying to the soul. God bless your Aunty!

i don't think that is the average reaction of people who are going to die
Some people pray in tongues. She may be doing that. A person praying in tongues will switch to speaking normally after he or she has finished praying. Your aunt may be getting a little mixed up between praying to herself and realizing other people are in the room for her to speak with.
She may be praying.
She may be possessed. Or, you are misunderstanding her muttering for something that sounds like a foreign language, and she could simply be experiencing some criss-cross electrical signal shorts in her brain as her physical self declines toward her demise. It can happen.
it is called delirium, maybe drug induced or just encephalopathy...
If she is in a hospice she may be on morphine for the pain, which will bring her in and out of awareness. Sounds like she is praying when she goes into tongues, it is probably very soothing for her and nothing to worry about.
she may not be speaking in tongues, just cause she says ala, that does not mean she is speaking in tongues. I guess it is possiable, but i would say it is more just off the top of her mind, that is not making much since right now.
any sort of depression can be tide over by faith in GOD and sincere prayer.

Your prayer is from your heart. Further You must have to understood the fact that God is present in our heart. This can be realised in meditation. Further we are the creation of our own destiny. As per Hindu sacred religion, we carry all good and bad deeds life after life. There is no end unless we pray for unification of self with the divineliness.

Hence there is always a possible way to complete mergence with God in this life by a simple and wonderful meditation

She is probably praying in tongues. I think it is wonderful! I hope she feels His peace and comfort.
