Answer:

Yes , cause you are getting better and leaveing behind a way of life that you have known for so many years, and in a way you really are having a lost, even though it is a healthy lost, it is a lost, of the way you have been all that time. But you will fine as you get better, that you will see how far you came, and even though you miss the old times, you should realize that you have come to far, to let yourself go back.

severe depression may be caused by something which happened to you which you didn't expect to be happened and you would wish if something like that wont have happened to you but you wont wish if you could forget what happened . so its common to be afraid of getting better if you have a very severe depression .

AND THE OTHER REASON MIGHT BE THAT YOU HAD A LOSS AND THAT LOSS CANT BE AFFORDED BY YOU SO IF THAT WONT HAVE HAPPENED TO YOU YOU WONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AND AS IT HAD HAPPENED THE ONLY THING THAT YOU WANT IS THAT THING WHICH HAPPENED TO YOU WONT HAPPENED AND YOUR MIND WOULD BE AFRAID OF LOSING THAT AND DON'T WANT TO RECOVER. BUT ONCE YOU OVER COME THESE EVERY THING WOULD BE FINE .

Fear can be a component of depression.

One can wonder if they 'recover' from depression will too much then be expected of them?

Will they be able to cope with being 'normal'?

Performance fears are a part of life but depression tends to blow them out of proportion.

Seems like fear of unknown after illness & recovery - that's normal!
