Is it a good idea to actually smoke marajuana before taking the SAT
I know this may sound rediculous but in school, kids were talking about how their older ciblings did good on the SAT's. They said the key ingredient is marajuana. It helps you stay more focused on each question. Is this really true?
Answer:No. Marajuana impairs memory function while you're under it's influence. It also slows down your thought process, which will be detrimental as there's significant time pressure on the SATs. It may also impair your reasoning ability.
While I consider marajuana fairly harmless as drugs go, and have no objection to occassional recreational use, the SATs are definitely not the time for it. Your friend's siblings may have done well on the SATs despite being stoned at the time, but it's a fair bet they would have done better if they hadn't been.
Assuming you're hoping to go to college, I recommend you arrive clean and sober for the SATs. You should get a good night's sleep the night before, and eat a good breakfast. A moderate amount of caffeine an help improve alertness and focus, but it's definitely not the time to try something new. So if you drink coffee or whatever and know how you'll react that's fine, just don't try drinking twice as much coffee as you normally would thinking that it will help you do better, as too much caffeine could definitely hurt your performance quite a bit (and the same goes for caffeine pills).
Sure if you aren't real intereted in getting into college! Marajuana dulls the brain...it does not help your focus...and it blurs the brain.
Whenever you take an exam, it's always best to be in the same frame of mind you were in when you studied for the test. Keep in mind that marijuana is an illigeal drug. But if you are a pot head and you've been high throughout your high school years when you were learning the info tested on SAT, then it's no point in trying to take the test with a clear mind. But if you've never smoked pot, it makes no sense to do it when you're taking an important test such as the SAT
No. It limits your ability to recall info and to critically think things through. You care less and make more mistakes. The pot just makes you too lazy in the head. you need to be clear headed and alert.
