My advice is to forget about him, at least for now. Stop thinking about him. If he still wants you, he will come to you. In the meantime, you might find someone you like better.
We could guess all day long what he's thinking, but ultimately, It doesn't matter. He's gone and as hard as it is for you now, you've gotta let him go. Totally go. It will take a few weeks or even a few months to get over him, but you will. You don't need drama like that from a guy. It's not worth it.
