cause my friend hes 14 and his dad had is and his grand papi had it. and he says he has it. is it genetic?
Answer:Yes, it can be genetic.
DEFINITELY. It is highly hereditary, but social situations during development years can add into it. Tell your friend to see a doctor and maybe a psychiatrist. I have depression (among other things) myself and there is plenty of help out there.
Yes, mental conditions do tend to run in the family. My father, his uncle, both my grandmothers, my mother , one sister and myself all suffer from depressing. My father, my maternal grandmother,
and myself have all been diagnosed with bipolar disorder(manic highs and depression lows). Unfortunately-I got it from both sides of the family. My counselor and my psychiatrist have both informed me that these problems can be passed down in the family.
No, but unemployment tends to be genetic in this area.
Yes, most doctors think it is inherited.

Yeah.
No. It is an imablance of two componants in your body. it is never calsed by genitics.
I'm not sure if its right to call it genetic, but i know that its caused mostly by a secretion of a glandule that produces pleasure, well, in some cases people just have problems producing it, so they tend to get depress more often than people that can produce it more easily.
