I think this complicated world created these mental problem.
unhealthy food, radios of mobiles TVs and each kind of radios, dangerous gases we are breathing and bad weather, are destroying our brains.
add to that the social problems and free sexual life causes depression.
Today i was watching a show on TV5 (french channel) and they were talking about the dangerous of mobiles radios and how it affects our brain.
So if we want to overcome depression without medicine which doesnt help that much, we have to put all these problems in consideration.
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Depression is psychological and it will only GET WORSE. It will effect every moment of your day and everyone around you. If you get help now, it is reversible after treatment. You will get to the point that you feel boxed in and cant breath, even think your dieing (that' when it turns really bad w/o med's). I developed depression in 2000, didn't get help, denied it, thought I could handle it ----wrong! Lost my job, almost my husband & turned my kids away. On medicine now...everything is better; not like it used to be, but better! Still feel fatigue, easy to set off at times...but I don't ache, sleep better, have more patience, less irritable & can focus better. I use to cry, think everyone talked about me & didn't want to be socialable--isolated myself--not no more!! It is physical & psychological also. Med's take about 4-6 weeks to notice a difference but its worth it. Don't be ashamed to ask for help, you'll be glad you did one day! FYI...not all antidepressents work on the same person...I take Lexapro..1 tab at night...that's all. I tried Paxil, effexor, etc. and didn't get the effect I needed. So don't get discouraged if the med you get doesnt work the first time, there are so many. FYI...my only baby brother committed suicide @ 26 years old in 2000. I'm a nurse, thought I could handle it...normal part of greiving process....wrong!!! I almost lost everything because I chose not to get help and admit something was wrong that one pill could help. Hope this helps.
If you think you are depressed, well, here is my advice, think of reasons why you are sad, uninterested in normal life you had, feeling low, and try to come to terms with the problem to find a solution. I have always been very cheerful, but just last summer, I went through some problems and I became depressive, and anxious. It was the worst time in my life, and I was thinking of seeking medical help.. I away from my family, making it worse, but my mom told me to go swimming, and I did. I would cry evertday, but after 3 days of swimming it became better...I've slowly learn to see that things are ok, and some times we fall, but if we just get up, we can continue enjoying people around us, our life. So I think the mind is always more powerful, and if we try to view things positivly, you wont need medication, you just need your own determination. Smile! Life is good.
