Is daydreaming bad if so how do i stop
is daydreaming bad? if so how do i stop?
I find my self daydream a lot and I would like to know if its bad and if their can be nasty side effects to it?
I daydream when I drive walk, I daydream all the time and so I think it might hinder my social life and causes me to do dumb stuff. is this a concern I should tell my psychiatrist?
I try not to do it during college classes but I cant help it and many times I can get my mind to shut off because its so preoccupied with negative thoughts and non negative thoughts.
what do you think?
Answer:Just about everyone on here has hit the mail on the head. Day dreaming is good in moderation, it helps with your creative side. It can become bad if it decreases your productivity. If your mind is preoccupied with negative thoughts try: talking them out, or writing them in a diary or a blog, just to get the off your mind
no, daydreaming is not bad. we actually need it.
Daydreaming is good for your creative side, but if a wandering mind is keeping you from concentrating, you might need to find a way to refocus yourself.
I don't think it's bad. It could be a bit distracting, though. Like when you are trying to drive. I would tell my psych. Maybe you're not getting enough sleep at night due to sleep apnea or something, and dreaming during the day. I think you could learn to ground it. Set aside time for daydreaming (meditating) and maybe it wouldn't rear it's head while you need to be alert.
In my opinion, daydreaming isn't bad. I think most, if not all people, daydream. Personally, I find comfort in letting my mind wander around during certain moments, especially during/after a stressful day. I guess it's one of my stress remedies.
