You know the one where the guy is talking to a therapist and he runs out of sweet tea... at the end is says that it will make you crazy.
Well, I suffer from a mental illness called bi-polar disorder. I have email the company and told them how pissed I was about this commercial. Is it discrimating?
Anyone else see a problem with it?
Answer:Unfortuntely, the world still thinks that mental illness is a laughing matter. I personally think the commerical just shows what most people think, and shows little respect for those of us who battle mental illness on a daily basis.
Unfortuntely, it is things like this that make it hard for people with mental illness to battle the assholes.
Those experiencing mental illness suffer stigma. It is just another symptom. There is a problem and one should not tolerate abuse for any reason. However, while fighting for the cause, just remember we are the most feared members of society. Fear expresses itself in many ways, most of them are maladaptive.
