Is anybody else dealing with ADHD/Conduct Disorder
I have had a very rough 21 years, looking after 2 children with ADHD/ODD/CONDUCT DISORDER & the very serious behaviour associated with this. My ex also has ADHD/AFFECTIVE DISTURBANCE/SLEEP DISORDER. To add to this, my 5 year old has Gross & Fine motor skill problems & my 4 year old has Autistic Disorder.
I am just looking for some support. If there are other parents out there dealing with the hell of ADHD/CONDUCT DISORDER, please make contact with me. I'd appreciate the comradery
Answer:Well, my 9yob was just diagnosed bp/odd, after having the adhd diagnosis last year. His rages became so severe, he finally got the bp diagnosis (and medication). Its still no picnic. My 7yo is undiagnosed, but is at a minimum ADD. He doesn't have the severe behavior difficulties of my firstborn, but he has social issues that may indicate PDD....auditory stimming and off doing his own thing during group activities, overly sociable though, as opposed to withdrawn. I've been so preoccupied getting help for the 9yo, he's been rather ignored, but I'm becoming increasingly concerned. The 6yog misunderstands EVERYTHING (probable CAPD), and I also have a 1yo (who I hope is normal, but isn't talking yet). None of my kids have talked before 2 1/2, but I was hopeful she was different. She is using some signs (eat, more, drink, baby, music, and car are pretty consistent, and a few others she uses less consistently.) Anyway, I sympathesize with having several children with "issues", and especially the serious behaviors with my oldest, though its termed bp, now.
yeah my youngest son has been diagnosed, I think I have it as well, but when i was a kid is was not heard of
Go to: www.myspace.com and join (free) click on "groups" on the bar near the top of the webpage and select "other", then ADHD or ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER and choose a group, maybe changing later, possibly exchanging phone numbers or email addresses. You could try AUTISM too. Also see: http://www.mentalhealth.com and http://www.healthandwellnesscentral.com... and Yahoo!; groups and the Google & Wikipedia websites on those subjects.
