Is a failing treatment always due to the patient

Answer:

Absolutely not (and I am a doctor, Ph.D. psychologist). The term "iatrogenic illness" means physician induced illness. At times docs can cause an illness or make it worse. At times patients can, but don't take the blame all the time.

No, of course not. Everyone reacts to treatments differently whatever they are. The medication, therapy, etc is meant to work on a specific kind of person and, if you're not that kind of person, it's not your fault.
Not at all.

It's due to doctors who don't know what they are doing or do not look at your body as a whole unit. There may be physical reasons for emotional concerns.

I know that doesn't help much but make sure to have a really good check up.Include all the endocrine blood tests.

Good luck

Treatment is not an exact science. Everyone is different. While it could certainly be a case of a physician being poorly informed, a patient that doesn't follow through, or poor communication between doctor and patient it could also simply be a case of trial and error like anything else.

If you are working with a doctor who is blaming you even if you are following his/her recommendations, you might want to interview a few different doctors until you can find someone who works well with you.
