Is OCD becoming an epidemic
I have it for one.
Answer:Not an epidemic. It becomes popular for society to label all the problems with some cause or reason. The scapegoat condition this week is OCD. Like all the previous labels running around out there, it will soon move on to the next condition. What is really going on is, communication has become easier by the day and people can more readily compare symptoms with those of other individuals. Many people have characteristics or idiosyncrasies that could be described as OCD behaviors, like me, and so are instantly labeled as such. This inflates the number of "reported" cases and throws the media into a tailspin of speculation.
Just as happened with the bipolar phase and the ADD/ADHD phase, soon the news about OCD will fall off as well.
It is total BS!
