Is Autism just a frame of mind Can it be changed how so
Autism is not "just a frame of mind" there are actual physical differences in the brain in various areas of the brain, and a human brain cannot be changed or "corrected" without doing far more harm than good. The cause(s) and biology of autism and other autism spectrum disorders is still unclear.
There are some treatments, but they are aimed at reducing the odd and unhelpful behaviours associated with the condition.
I have high-functioning Asperger's Syndrome (an autistic spectrum disorder), and have learned to function reasonably well in society, but the underlying problems remain. I will never be "normal", but thanks to the support my parents have provided over the years, I've been able to live my own independent life, and found some measure of happiness.
It's alot of work... kinestic learning seems to work well.
Autism cannot be changed, its something that has to do with your biology and it includes mental retardation, so no, its not a frame of mind and no, it cannot be changed. You can work with the child to try to work with the symptoms though through therapy.
