Im worried sick about my Marine boyfriend
He just for Iraq, I feel sick. I cry all of the time, I have panic attacks.... I'm so scared something is going to happen to him...How do I make myself feel better?
Answer:That's an unfortunate consequence of being involved with a military person; it's much like being married to a police officer.
The truth is that while some military folk are casualties of war, they are in the minority. The military folk are as safe as we can make them, and the media definitely shows mostly the bad things that happen in wartime. Truth is that "if it bleeds, it reads", meaning, in media speak, violence sells better than peace.
Still, some people are injured or killed in the military, and moreso during wartime. I still have friends in the military (I left in 2002). You might consider joining a support group for people involved with those in the military.
A related question was asked a while ago, and you can find it here:
Your anxiety and tears and sick fear is only putting negative energy in the air. Pray and think positive, strong thoughts. It he gets hurt, you need to be strong, not sitting around letting yourself fall apart. Maybe this isn't about you, it's about him, and a something much bigger than you.
Talk to other girls whos bf's are there it will help and i dont have a marine bf but everyone who knows me knows that i respect NO ONE MORE then the usmc or any other people fighting for our country. God bless your boyfriend and just remember hes there fighting for us and he will be home to you soon dont worry if hes strong enough to go there hes strong enough to come home!!!!
It's natural to worry about a loved one going into a war area. Pray for him and yourself. Send letters to him often. And remember that several women and men have already been to Iraq and back.
try meditation, think positive.
prayer works wonders, all of your worrying and making youself sick is not going to keep him safe, you have to keep youself of sound mind and body so you can be here in one peice when he gets back and you can hold him. prayer is strong, anytime you feel an attack or a loss of control coming on take a deep breath and ask god to watch over him, give all your fears to god, its in his hands, and all you can do is pray.
