Im unmotivated, what can I do
If the second motivator, that of mind, knowledge, and relationships, is caused to be doubtful of is happiness, from a sense of loss, or hopeless outlook of something [or [some-one] wanted,, then the animal/bodily nature will take hold, and the excess of its use and the slackening of the radiance of the mind is the result.
There are only two apparent cures for the disease of the mind, one real, and the other figment. The real cure is to recognize the very fact you can desire ideal things is in itself a proof to there being a reality which is available to join it to satisfaction. That is, everything which can be desired has its object of attraction, its goal. For the rational mind, that is relationship, and one which is as ideal as the person's greatest self, whether conscious or unconscious. The second "cure" is really only delusion, and that is: to accept as what's not wanted as all that's possible, to neglect the aspirations of the ideal mind, and relationship(s), in favor of feeding only the self, the body, and ego only.
The sadness of separation, and disunity in the world is the very cause for the selfish behaviors of everyone in the world. A person of healthy mind, if rational, is disposed to live for the sake of others' well being, seeing in others their own needs, and deserving, by the very virtue of them being of the same nature as themselves.
Now for you, as the circumstances suggest, this is most likely evident to you, in some special degree, due to your sense of loss of your father. Surely then the cure for this is to regard what would make him happy if he were his ideal self, and you to perceive this, being an indivisible truth, and therefore indestructible, must of necessity be continuance. At the very least, in regard to your own conscience, to hold this truth within your grasp of mind. Indeed, no sense of loss could be felt without your ability to still have a sense of union with your father. It is the very comparison of the two possible extremes which create the feelings, for they are the source of the measure, and value.
