I've heard that a new prescription sleep med called "Rozerem" is actually non-addictive (you know, the commercials w/Abe Lincoln and the beaver). You can do Yahoo! search on it. It's basically, as far as I know, like the melatonin supplements found in stores except regulated by the FDA, so it's safer. Before you make any changes talk to your doc.


Colozapam (sp) can be habbit forming, be careful and only use it when needed. Also, do not use it if you regularly consume alchohol. It can be dangerous if mixed with alchohol. Also, I am assuming you have a prescription and are taking it under a doctor's supervision.

I can reccomend bed time tea, lavander tea, or skullcap. Or warm milk with honey as some more natural alternatives.

No - it's a very bad idea! If you haven't been taking them long, wean yourself down to a half a pill for a week, then a quarter for a week, and slowly off!

Try some natural sleep aids like chamomile tea, sleepytime tea and look up other alternatives on the internet. Ask your doctor for a prescription for tryptophan (it's all natural, but I don't believe it's on the shelves any longer, although you can check the health food stores - don't settle for 5-HTP - it's not as good). There are higher levels of tryptophan in turkey and milk and some other foods, which you can look up. It will put you to sleep, without any ill effects. Try everything natural you can to sleep.

Please get off that benzo. They're highly addictive, and even though it may seem tame at first, when you're hooked - you're hooked and if you withdraw suddenly, you could have seizures and all kinds of horrible side effects (even from just 1mg.). Trust me - it's not worth it!
