you can be very proud of yourself!!! you found the meds that were right for you and are taking them faithfully! and you are doing fine!! and working hard in management! It just doesn't get any better than that! I'm sure others with your diagnosis have beaten the odds too and don't buy into the stereotypes that people with no knowledge think about those with mental illness.
I can understand your nervousness but don't let it linger or hold you back in anyway.
Continued good luck to you! :)
God Bless!
sounds like you are doing fine. just because a person has mental illness does not mean they are stupid. i counseled many people with schizophrenia, and when i was very young, a patient said to me once, 'just because i am mentally ill, does not mean i am stupid' and guess what'. he was right . i learned that valuable lesson years ago. some of the people with schizophrenia on skid row are there because perhaps they are not on medications. medications are the most important aspect of staying well. it is no ones business , at work what your illness is. i can understand your concern, about people finding out , but that is unfortunately due to the fact that society has placed such a stigma on mental illness. if you were on medication for diabetes you probably would not worry if your co workers found out. there are many people that are schizophrenic and have been very success full . good luck and keep doing what u are doing.
