If someone is a loner, does it mean they have a mental disorder

The term loner is usually used with a negative connotation in the belief that humans are social creatures and those that do not participate are different, though in some cases there is a certain romanticism in the idea of the Loner (see The Lone Ranger) since they are seen as special and unique. The loner may take great pride in their behavior.

It is also worth noting that loners can potentially be exceptionally sexually attracted to one another but no further contact can be established since they have great difficulty approaching strangers

no
No, they could just be an introvert.
No, but I'm sure as soon as there is a drug that treats "loner syndrome" it will become one. ;-)
i dont think so. i am a bit of a loner, i just dont like most people. Mental disorder? maybe just a superiority complex...
NO, like someone said before they are probably a introvert or just a shy person.
no, it means that they dont like hanging around people or it is hard for them to make friends. being shy or not confident about oneself can also be a cause of being a "loner."
No! Some people may feel like they just do not fit in with other people. Some people can just be shy. Some people feel if they are a loner they do not have nosy people in their business.
