Actually it is neither.
Efexor (trade name: Venlafaxine) is actually what is commonly referred to as a SNARI or a Serotonin and Noradrenaline Reuptake Inhibitor.
Its generally not a first line drug to use (they would be SSRIs) and is reserved for Major Depression, Generalised Anxiety Disorders and Social Anxiety Disorder.
