A psychology major would be a help, but don't forget the important science classes that are often not part of a psych degree. Neurology is a tough science, so you will need a good background in biology, chemistry, genetics, organic chem, immunology, etc. Those classes are usually part of a biology, biochemistry, or chemistry degree. You may want to consider a double major. You could also check the course requirements and prerequisites of the masters and Ph D programs in neuropsych.
