I think my girlfriend is hiding a drug addiction from mehow can I tell
Ever since Valentine's Day, she hasn't been herself. Now we aren't "together", but on Valentine's Day, I bought her half a dozen roses and took her out to dinner and everything all romantic like that. However, she was very indifferent. I had to ASK her for a kiss! And usually she's not that way with me. We have a very intense sex life, and since Valentine's day, she's blown me off. Also, my birthday is the day after Valentine's Day, and again, she blew me off, but she came over and kept "camping out" in my bathroom for very long periods of time. Also, she's complaining of a post nasal drip, under her nose is very irritated, watery eyes, and sneezing. She contributes this to the Texas mountain cedar, but I'm not so sure. I came by last night and she was awake, but sitting in her apartment in total darkness, which I thought was weird. How do I approach this? Are my suspicions valid?
Answer:Just ask her about her behavior. Maybe she has depression, maybe she is on drugs, maybe she is seeing someone else but feels bad about it, maybe she has some kind of mental problem. There are a number of things that could be wrong with her and I would suggest you approach her about it, it may be something she needs you to help her overcome.

She is sniffing something ( Coke, meth, etc..) You cant say anything because she will deny it. Just try to catch her slipping. Or if she keeps being distant just break it off
a drug addiction seems like a strange thing to question -i'm wondering if there is more to the story - perhaps she's depressed or upset about something...could she be pregnant? could she have be sexually assaulted?...did something happen in her life - a death? - it sounds like she may be crying and that's why she has the redness and post nasel drip - and maybe that's why she seems distant...
Yes, your suspicions are valid; from your description of the camping out, she could be smoking crack, but that you'd smell, and with the addition of the post nasal drip, watery eyes and sneezing, I'd say she's snorting heroin and/or cocaine. She could be sitting in the bathroom nodding..sitting in the dark is usually a sign of paranoia caused by smoking crack. It's difficult to say exactly, especially since different people react differently, but going on my own personal past experience, (25 years of drug addiction, 8 yrs clean) she's doing all three, snorting heroin and cocaine, and smoking crack/cocaine.
Valentines day was only a few days ago. Maybe shes having bad week.
