I need to talk to a psychologist but I dont have any health insurance

Does anyone know where I can go for free? In Baltimore downtown or close. You do you know where I can find out?

Check to see if there are any 'charity' type hospitals in your area that give treatment on a sliding scale..as is appropriate for your income level. Mental health services are often offered at these type of places, but you are warned that there will be a long wait for an assessment appointment, which will not be done by any kind of medical doctor. The chances are, and only if you are lucky and get a referral, that you will end up speaking with a counselor/therapist, and you will have to pay for part of it at least. Visits with psychologists are far and few between unless you have a diagnosed disorder or it is a literal emergency, and even then, if you are unable to pay for at least a portion of the visit you probably will not be seen.

Check to see if you qualify for govt health care (medicaid?). To be honest, this is really the only avenue that I see open to you if you cannot afford to pay for any of it yourself. Unfortunately psychologists rarely, if ever, give away their services for free, and they are extremely expensive ($100 an hour at least...) You might want to consider a therapist instead..often they give deals if you are willing to purchase a certain number of sessions up front.

I know this all sounds terribly difficult, and complicated..but the truth is that even if you have medical insurance..getting an appointment with a psychologist is very difficult..and generally people are only alloted a certain number of visits per year..after meeting a deductible. Taking this into account..I'm sure you can see that attempting to obtain the same services, but for free..will be all but impossible.
