Also, when you give up smoking, how long does it take to show an improvement?

Answer:

Go to NA narcotics anonymous. Its a support meeting for people who are trying to quit and for people who have quit. I suggest you go before you are made to go. All it takes is one day at a time. good luck.

Compare your productivity and reaction time and the drop of a bad habit can come quite quickly.

The main key is to keep that drink on the weekend, or the holiday. Value your willpower more than your ability to break down to a inanimate object.

*Improvement can be shown immediately when intoxication wears off (given your not sleeping). But 2 or 3 days (since its a habit) with a clear mind and good sleep arent bad.

Wow - you do 'pack' the question full, huh?

If and when your desire to do 'better', is greater than your desire to continue smoking, then you can hope to succeed in quitting. . .

Until this is your reality? attempts to quit will be just that - attempts.

Improvement? you ask?

It's a purely individual situation . . . regaining memory and clear thinking, is what I believe you are asking about? Give it a few months - but, you may never fully realize when you 'come back' to being yourself. . .

Good luck on your journey -

Go on a stress free holiday and don't smoke. Holiday's will hopefully distract you from wanting to then when you come back seperate your self from it and poeple who do it.
