I just started taking Klonopin (clonazepam) and the side effects are pretty bad--will they go away w

I take 1mg before bedtime, 0.25mg in the morning, and 0.5mg in the afternoon; which equates to 1.75mg every 24 hours. I take it for anxiety. It's not that high of a dose, but I feel dopey, tired, and my memory seems shot. I also have REALLY glassey-eyes...people think I'm high or drunk or something. Will these side effects go away? Your suggestions would be more than helpful! Thanks.

Answer:

I take it also,it use to make me feel the same way. After about 3 weeks I started feeling my self again. What ever you do don't quit taking it abruptly or your anxiety will come back even worse to the point where you won't even want to face getting out of bed.Just give it time and you will feel a world of difference.

I don't think the side effects will go away, it's a tranquillizer. You might be happier with an antidepressant, they're not just for depression, but anxiety too. Mine keeps me calm.
Hope this helps!

Clonazepam is in a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. Clonazepam affects chemicals in your brain that may become unbalanced and cause seizures or symptoms of panic disorder.

Clonazepam is used to treat seizures and panic disorder.

Clonazepam may also be used for purposes other than those listed

What should I discuss with my healthcare provider before taking clonazepam?

Do not take clonazepam if you have narrow-angle glaucoma. Clonazepam may worsen this condition.
